I can't wait to see you

'Want to see if you still got that look in your eyes,
The one you had for me before we said our goodbyes'

Yarn is totally my drug of choice.
So many pretty colors, so many textures.
And it makes me giddy to have new yarn and a new hooky project.
I made myself a vest.
Its a blueish gray color and i love it.

And Danielle's birthday was Thursday.
She turned 4 and had a great little party.

The cake was 6 colorful layers making a yummy 'moist' cake.

Which eventually toppled over but was nummy either way.

Til Next time.

Sneakers!
Oh shoes of evil!
I needed new ones so of course off to Wal*Mart I went. And what did I get? Tennis sneakers! Plain boring white shoes of wonderless-ness. But thats not okay to me, nope what good are boring white sneakers? They get dirty easily they're uninteresting and ugly. Whats a Nata to do? Well of course put them through the transformation that all of my sneakers have gone through for a few years now.

Sneaker + Sharpie = Joy

This time I went with Zentangle to design them.
Yes yet again my nickname is on there.
I love them!

Sometimes you wake up. Sometimes the fall kills you. And sometimes, when you fall, you fly.

Some things i've done in the past few weeks.
Heart garland! <3 Yes for Valentine's Day I did indeed make heart garland. It took about 30/45 minutes and I love it and we do in fact still have it hanging up.

Yup I totally went to make a shawl again and got bored and this time made it a bandana to wear on my head.

I finally figured out what to do with all those stars i've been making. I turned them into a scarf. Yes cause I am indeed that odd.
And lastly I'm knitting a scarf for Poppie but knitting bores me so its taking forever. I will literally knit for 10 minutes then put it down to do something else.

And lastly a quote from Neil Gaiman.

“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.”

Colors screaming my name.

Buying yarn and stash busting kinda cancel each other out right? Well maybe not so much. But i'm totally counting these guys as parts of my 50 for 2010 goal.

First off I made myself a bow. I love bows right now for some reason. Like hardcore, and my favorite shirt of the moment happens to be brown and yellow. So I figured a nice yellow hair bow would be perfect.

I just chained like 32-34 then it was either half double crochet or just normal double crochet, back and forth for 4 rows. I then joined the two ends and gathered it in the middle and attached it to a hair clip.

Then up next we have fingerless gloves for Sara. She wanted lime green and purple but I found some nice dark green and added it as well. Though the colors defiantly remind me of a creature from a kids show. Sara loved them. Which made it all worth while.
Then I totally did it again and made myself yet another pair of these soft green fingerless gloves. I used a different stitch so they're more open then the last ones. But they're still as warm and cozy. Which makes them awesome.
Then last but not least. I tried out a lovers knot shawl but got bored quickly, and instead made a neck scarf thing that all the emo kids wear. I like it, it sits nicely when worn and totally doubles as a handkerchief that you'd wear on your head. Plus its a nice teal blue color which makes me happy.

Link Hat

I finally made a hat that reminds me of Link's hat in LOZ. I've wanted one since forever. But never really had the patience to make one. And the ones I found patterns for online were not something I was happy with. So I just made a pixie hat that had a nice slouch to it. And yeah I don't think Link's hat had a ridged band on it but it helps me keep the hat on so I added it.
.
On a much more awesome note... Woodstock on tape is awesome and the men were much more sexy then, than they are now. Which is sad but whatever. <3

Heart and Scarf

Being bored and surfing the web is probably never a good thing. But it made me think about Valentine's Day which is the bane of every single persons existence. Though I have always had fun with the girls. So in honor of V-day i've made one of a few sweethearts. This one will be for Nadine since shes so lawl worthy.
Next would be my Luna Lovegood Scarf. I followed this pattern. Which I thought wouldn't bore me what with the variety of stitches but I did get bored and distracted a lot. But I love this scarf and am so glad I finally tried the pattern out.

And last but not least this started out to be a blanket. But I just got to bored to finish it so I connected the ends. And now its a cowl scarf thing.

Starghan and Handwarmers

So I definitely finished two of my 50 projects. Yay me.

Starghan:
Being me I couldn't just do a normal one nope not at all so I went and found the pattern for the Chromium Star Blanket. It wasn't that difficult but I found myself bored easily with the pattern. So it took me longer then it should have to finish it. Mines also a bit wonky because I think my tension differed from going up and down on the points. Oh well I'm pleased with it.

After that I was worried i'd never want to crochet again. Cause well it was a pain and went from being fun to a choir.

Well at the mall on a shopping trip with the girls I came across some fingerless gloves in Hot Topic that I loved. They have bows on them hello! But looking at them I said "I can't buy these, I could make them so buying them would be a waste of money." Of course being me this is something I say often and never really end up making the item. Well I wanted them bad enough to remember. Mine are no where near as long as theres but they make me happy and thats what matters most.

They're not black, obviously and they're not as nice I suppose. But they have the cutest bow on them. And they're made with a soft yarn that i've been saving since I bought it. I'm pleased so that's all that matters.
